Week 13 - second trimester!

13 weeks - according to The Bump
Peanut is as big as a peach (2.9" and .81oz)
Forming vocal cords and teeth!
Peanut already has fingerprints
Intestines are moving from umbilical cord to tummy

I am so excited to be in the second trimester! I am praying that the awesome first trimester "fun" is coming to an end soon. I am so over being sick and exhausted. 10am on the dot every day I have to take a nap or I can't function.

This week has been eventful. Tuesday I was bed/couch bond all day and it sucked even more because I had no help. Michael had to go to Macon to pick up something (1.5 away). Nothing tasted right and very little stayed down. I highly regretted not getting the awesome pills to help with it at my last doctors appointment lol On Thursday we had our second prenatal appointment!!! Michael and I both got our flu shots - btw, I love that my Ob's office extended the flu shot to my husband! The nurse lied about our arms not hurting after. They were so sore the rest of the day. Didn't help I hit it on my freezer handle while getting something out the fridge. Got my mass amount of blood drawn which wasn't bad at all, she got all 5 tubes done so fast because it only took her 1 try to hit the vein! The most exciting part was hearing the heart beat for the first time!

My first appointment was at 8 almost 9 weeks. My office only uses a fetal doplar to listen to the heart beat and that early on it won't work. So at my 10 week ultrasound is when we found out they only use the doplar... We were very disappointed. We had to wait until almost 13 weeks to hear it, the anticipation was crazy! When Dr. Parker put the doplar on my stomach, she only had to move it a little to get it. Little did we know the baby would be a bugger and move as soon as we landed on it. It took almost 2 mins to corner "her" (fingers crossed ;)) and get a very good listen. It was a very healthy 160!!!

Waiting for this moment made me think back to hearing David's for the first time. I was early in the first trimester, maybe 7-8 weeks, and I had blood when I went to the bathroom. Thankfully my parents knew by now and my step mom rushed me to the emergency room. Everything looked normal from a vaginal exam, cervix was closed or whatever, but they sent me for an ultrasound just to be sure. By this point my dad and David's father were at the hospital. Since it was an emergency only the tech and I were aloud in the ultrasound room. As I'm lying there crying, terrified I lost the baby, I hear the fastest "thump thump thump thump". I looked at the nurse and asked if my heart was really going that fast and she looked at me and said "No sweetie, that's the baby! It's heart sound perfect, you didn't lose the baby!" I started crying more. I will never forget that moment! Just like I won't forget this new ones. Both kids have a great story behind this moment :)

Week 12

12 weeks - according to The Bump
Peanut is the size of a plum (2.1", .49oz)
Most of the critical systems are fully formed!
Peanuts about to enter the growth and maturation stage, in which the organs and tissues will grow and develop rapidly!
Reflexes are now devolving - poke my belly and peanut will move (it did this at my 10 week ultrasound!)
Opening and closing fingers and curling toes, too!
Brain is developing fast!

Thank you again for all the love surrounding this peanut! I can't say that enough. It's a lot different sharing this pregnancy than David's because, well, I'm not 18 trying to finish high school and I'm in a great marriage with an amazing guy. This baby and David have the most amazing family pouring love to them always! I don't want to say this one makes our family complete because despite the horrible start, I may still want my 3rd! Anyway, onto this weeks update!

Trying to avoid a mamas boy with strep throat is AWESOME. Thankfully he contracted it so he was down over the weekend and Michael took care of him while I barricaded myself in the room with a nasty head cold. He was so mad we wouldn't let him have hard/crunchy stuff Friday/Saturday due to his tonsils being so swollen. I didn't want him going through the pain of something cutting them. My head cold is finally gone! That was a rough week since meds are few and far between while pregnant. Resting all weekend while my husband cooked, cleaned and took care of David was so nice, not to mention Monday David was off so we had another lazy day to recoup!

Another difference in pregnancies I forgot to add to the last post: BOOOOOBS!
With David I was a 34B before and hardly got to a C when he came. Dropped to a 34A after... With this peanut I'm already wearing a 34C. What the hell! Hopefully this is a good sign. I hard a hard time breast feeding David and want to so bad with this one. It could mean nothing, except I'm getting fat ;) but I'll look at it in a different way lol

How far along: 12 weeks!

Total weight gain: not sure, don't have a scale at home!

Maternity clothes:  I neeeeed to buy some.

Stretch marks: I thought I saw some on my boobs but they were lines from sleeping.

Sleep: after the head cold went away its gotten better. My back has been hurting more...

Best moment this week: my belly actually rounding out! I'm getting out the "is she pregnant or fat" stage

Miss anything: tacos!

Movement: no, I'm dying to feel some.

Food cravings: nothing crazy this week. Just the typical fries!!

Anything making you queasy or sick: the smell of onions...

Have you started to show: ooooh yes!

Gender: still don't know but my money is on girl

Labor signs: nope

Belly button in or out: innie

Wedding rings on or off: on, except when I nap... Holy swollen fingers.

Happy or moody most of the time: emotional lol

Looking forward to: my next appt!!!

Two Pink Lines

Talk about a whirlwind of emotions! Baby Mullendore is due May 1st, 2015!

We started trying early May, after I got my IUD out. It only took 3 months! I had lots of issues with my Mirena. The last year was full of cyst on my right ovary that kept bursting, one sent me into the hospital it was so big and had burst. I was terrified my ovary had twisted resulting in a hard time conceiving. Buuuut that didn't happen! I waited two days after my missed period. Something told me to take it at night even though Michael was nervous of a negative. Sure enough BAM positive within seconds of peeing on it! Of course he made me test again two days later with morning pee. The first line is the one that detects the pregnancy hormone, the second is just the control line. My levels were/are so high the line was stealing dye from the control line!

Telling David I wanted it to extreamly special and cute, buuuut of course that didn't happen. This pregnancy has been hell. The first 9 weeks were nothing but extreamly nausea with some vomiting. Dinner time was the worse. I basically couldn't eat dinner for the first 8 weeks. Stress made me throw up, and that's all David would do to me in the morning. He is always very concerned when I'm sick so we had to tell him so he knew I was fine. We sat him down after dinner one night and told him he was going to be a big brother (again, since Chris has another) and to say he was excited would be a very big understatement! He instantly wanted to see the baby and know when it was coming out. Then it became real when I told him the EDD. His first question: "Will I be here for it or at my dads?" Of course he will not miss the birth of his brother/sister! His second question: "Michael will you still be my dad?" This broke both our hearts seeing how he realized Michael will soon have his own child, but like the amazing step father he is he went cuddled David and said "Just because this will be my child doesn't mean I will love you any less!" Cuuuuue the water works! Every new week David wants an update on the baby and to see the video of the week! It is the cutest thing ever and makes me so excited to finally be giving him a sibling!

Differences in pregnancies:
David - some nausea and vomiting but never missed a day of school
Peanut - extream nausea and some vomiting and can hardly move or clean

David - tired but not exhausted, nap after school was perfect
Peanut - EXHAUSTED and naps make it worse

David - early cravings were not much, I remember pickles and cottage cheese
Peanut - early cravings are craaaazy and sweets and French fries are front and center

David - horrible horrible acne. Omg nothing helped it.
Peanut - clearing up my skin, actually!

When they say you show faster with your second they were not lying. I didn't think I'd show too fast since it was 5.5 years ago that I had a child and at one point lost all the baby weight. Already having to do the rubber band trick and bought a belly band for pants that won't even zip... Crazy!

At 10 weeks exactly, 10.3.14, we FINALLY got to see the baby!! Sharing that moment with Michael was so special. I've been through all this before, doesn't mean I'm less excited but more excited for Michael and seeing his baby! He is already an amazing step father to David so I know he'll do great with this peanut! Since we hadn't even seen the heart beat and twins run STRONGLY on his side (moms side) we were very curious how many were in there, not to mention my hormone level was very high which happens with multiples. The waiting was horrid. Anxiety was front and center for Michael. We let the tech know about the twin thing so she would scan and check hardcore! As soon as she put the thing on my tummy we saw it, yes it, THERE'S ONLY ONE!!!! The little peanut was sleeping and would wiggle a little when I laughed or she pushed on my tummy but was so still! David was ALWAYS a wiggle worm. Lets hope this is a sign of balance ;)

Having a cold while pregnant SUCKS ASS. Tylenol does not help these headaches and the stuff I'm allowed to take for allergies don't work on me. Benadryl is my very best friend, along with my husband. It knocks me out and I feel a little better in the morning. I only take 1, even though 2 is still safe. Michael has taken David to school for me so I can get plenty of rest. It's amazing but this cold crap can go away anytime..

11 weeks - according to The Bump!
Peanut is the size of a lime (1.6" .25oz)
Peanut is moving around more and more
Peanuts skin is see-through, but closer to looking like a baby
Peanuts fingers and toes aren't webbed anymore
Peanuts tooth buds, hair follicles & nail beds are forming

How far along: 11 weeks!

Total weight gain: -3 lbs

Maternity clothes:  just my belly band! I did buy a shirt that was too cute to pass up and last one in my size but haven't been able to wear it!

Stretch marks:  no new ones

Sleep:  trying to get used to not being able to sleep on my tummy again... What sleep?

Best moment of this week:  seeing our baby!!!!!!

Miss anything:  broccoli. It gives me such BAD heartburn. Annnd my scolding hot showers.

Movement:  still too early

Food cravings:  fries, apple anything, cinnamon

Anything making you queasy or sick:  the smell of coffee and my hubs everything bagels

Have you started to show yet:  oooooh yes! Although most people say they can't tell

Gender:  too early (think pink!)

Labor signs:  lawd no!

Belly button in or out:  innie but making its way to be flat already

Wedding rings on or off:  still on

Happy or moody most of the time:  moody. Fatigue has kicked in and when I'm tired exhausted I'm such a crab

Looking forward to:  hearing the baby's heart beat for the first time at my next appt (10/23)

The Day I Became Mrs Mullendore

10.12.13 - the perfect fall day for a wedding in Florida overlooking the bay!

Of course the day started off with a face mask and I was the first one up in the house (despite being out late drinking!) Went to my favorite hair place in Florida to my favorite hair lady and she had donuts waiting for us!!! I'm not one of those brides who watches what she eats before the wedding, haha, I chowed down on some donuts! While she was doing my hair it started to hit me that TODAY is the day I'm getting married to my love, my best friend, my sons favorite person. After my hair was done I rewrote my vows so they were pretty and readable! It was a perfect morning spent with my mom, sisters and niece! I loved that one on one time together before the chaos. Chaos... That's what happened when we got to the venue. Hurry up and get ready because it has to start on time due to a wedding right after ours in the same area outside (outside ceremony, inside reception). The one moment I didn't want to rush, and didn't let get rushed, was my dad putting on my Granny's pearls. That was the most special moment so far. I miss her everyday and I know she was watching from above! The line up - omg it's happening! Get your emotions in order Jordan! Walking out and seeing Michael standing there crying, with his arm wrapped around David, it was the moment I had always waited for. The rest is such a blur. I remember our vows and the kiss, the rest is just a fuzzy memory. I couldn't even look him in the eyes without wanting to cry. It was a perfect intimate wedding with our closes friends and family that could make the trip from CA, LA, GA, and OH. I couldn't have picked a better husband or step father for David!
